Finally, regenerating human soldiers, no matter how slow it is, is always a big welcome. I tend to play by hunting as much as I can before farming because farming is painfully slow so Great Hunt often grants me more gazelles or even pigs. It would be even more useful if I had somekind of Earthquake/Meteor power to use in combination but finding relics, food supplies and my enemy town is good enough. It allows me to better patrol the map without having to use an Ulfsark. The best part of using Odin are the two ravens. If I can use it on an important building just before an assault, it makes it harder for the enemy to create new units and retaliate. One of the best features is actually deconstruction.

But by the time I reach the Mythic Age when the real expensive stuff comes up, I rarely am running low on ressources. The cheaper siege weapons and myth units benefits are a nice touch especially in the Classical Age when you may be short on ressources. It's too bad that I rarely had the chance to use this ability. Though the building time shift does take away the Omniscience benefits, it can come in handy to create a forward base outside your enemy town. This guy almost didn't make the list but thinking back, his benefits aren't that bad. Plus, sometimes the Lure will only bring animals safe to hunt like a herd of Elks and this will come in handy when nearby food becomes scarce. Then five militia came out and took out their Siege Towers while the rest of my army dealt with the other soldiers. My enemy surprised me with an attack and took out my newly built Fortress. Still, my last game as Poseidon actually surprised me. Also, I'm not a big fan of cavalry units. The lure god power can also be a mess if it lures wolves and bears to it. Sure a bunch of free soldiers will emerge from destroyed buildings, but I don't usually plan on losing buildings when I play a random map. His benefits don't come as handy to me as often. This Greek god only made the bottom of the list and is barely better than the two unlisted ones. Again, this is just my opinion and is not an official top 10 list. Today I will list my top 10 favourite major gods in AoM, and since there are only 12 gods to choose from, I may even explain why the last 2 didn't make the cut. In any case, each one can offer a bunch of combination of benefits to play around with. I think everyone can agree that some major gods are very beneficial in certain scenarios, others not so much. Another thing I enjoy is the different combinations of major gods you can select for your opponents, allies and yourself. I enjoy the graphics, the strategic gameplay, the monsters, the powers etc. As you may have guessed, Age of Mythology (AoM) is one of my favourite games for the PC.
